Bubbles. And Booyah. Where does this charming little name come from?
Let’s start with the bubbles. Bubbles, i.e. champagne, bub, bubbly, champs, etc, is truly the nectar of the gods. If I had to name my favorite frosty adult bev, it would hands down be champagne. In front of vodka. Or gin. Or sauvingnon blanc. And let me tell you, that’s saying a lot. Bubbles, to me, are a treat. Something celebratory, something fun. Special. The glass you raise to toast to a wedding, birthday, job well done (hello pay increase), having a great day, or at the end of a really bad one. It’s important to mark all of these milestones and celebrate the beauty – not matter how small – in each and every day. I promise to not get too corny on you (who wants to read that?) but seriously, people – celebrate that shiz. Cherish the little bits of luxury (whatever that may be) in life. Laugh. Smile. It’s all good.
Booyah. Where does this fun-to-say phrase come from? Well… I don’t know if you’ve heard this wonderful little song called Booyah by Showtek, but let me take a little aside here: I love to run. It’s therapeutic, and it makes me feel great especially when my run goes something like: “I don’t wanna do this. I’m not loving this. My knees hurt. Ugh. Look at that hill. Oh wait, this is song is really good. Okay, this isn’t so bad. I can do this. C’mon legs!” But ends up with “I DID IT! I’M THE CHAMPION OF THE UNIVERSE!” (insert victory dance). Who does not want to yell “Booyah!” (high five, fist pump) at this moment? It’s not always easy, but I try to get pumped up so I can have a dance party in my head while my sneakers are pounding the pavement. This particular song gets me pumped up. I’m pretty sure my trainer knows I love this and when she sees I’m flagging, will play this just to get a little extra push out of me. So “Booyah,” to me, is that extra push, the extra mile, the extra bit you have to go to achieve your goal. You CAN do it, even if it feels like your legs are going to fall off.
